Fred, Jake and Jack ~ City Workers about 1903

I think these men helped put in the first electric power into Mt Pleasant. A hole in the top of the picture leads me to believe it was nailed to the wall in the Electric shop. My Father (Laban Gunderson) was City Electrician for several years starting about 1927 which could explain why I have this picture.

Glass Plate Negative Slides of Older Homes and Business in Mt. Pleasant, Utah

These were found in a cigar box stored by my grandfather, Anthon Gunderson who was a carpenter, and possibly had some part in their construction.

Betty Gunderson Woodbury Collection

We are happy to announce a new contributor to our blog.  Betty Gunderson Woodbury has graciously sent in some of her collection  of Mt. Pleasant memorabilia and will continue to send more as her time allows.  Betty is a descendant of Anthon Gunderson and  Andrew Beckstrom.  So we look forward to seeing more history of Mt. Pleasant from a very gracious contributor.

The lady in this picture is Louise Beckstrom who lived across the street west of the Pioneer Monument in a house where Skyline Pharmacy's parking lot now stands.  The Beckstroms owned that whole corner lot. This picture was taken  before the Carnegie Library was built.
